West End Glee

   Show Information

The first ever nationwide West End Glee Club finals are a week away and Sears Basset College needs to add a solo number to its set, but which talented performer gets the honour to perform it? Through the evening our four students perform their chosen songs and tell the audience a bit about themselves. It is then up to the audience to decide in this interactive show,  as they vote for which performer should be awarded the prestigious solo slot, and unlike the recent election here in the UK, there can be no Coalition! With a guest slot for fellow performing companies – could this be the only musical guaranteed to be different every night?

West End Glee Club is a new revue-based musical which includes established songs from Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jonathan Larson and Marvin Hamlisch. The show also features music from shows such as Wicked, Les Mis, Cabaret and We Will Rock You.

The ‘World Premiere’ of West End Glee Club will take place at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe and will be performed by some of the most exciting new musical theatre performers on the West End Scene today, each of whom is destined to be the stars of tomorrow.

In the spirit of the fringe CliMar Productions invites a different guest company to perform and promote their own show every night of the run.  CliMar’s producer stated “It’s fantastic that for many years there have been the opportunities for comedians to cross-promote their shows within each other’s. We are proud to give other musical productions or cabaret performers, the same opportunity to promote themselves via West End Glee Club.”
